COMMANDERS MESSAGE (Jan - March 2010)
I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and that Santa was generous to you and your family. 2009 was a very successful year for Post 372. While our biggest undertaking was bringing the Vietnam Traveling Wall to our Post, the year was filled with more events such as Welcome Homes for returning military soldiers, Award Ceremonies, Memorial Day Ceremonies, Locustwood Flagging, Statewide Services, Wildwood Convention, our Annual Yard/Bake Sale, Easter Egg Hunt, Kids Xmas Party, Hoagie Sales, 4th of July celebrations and parade, 9/11 Services, Chapel Ave Patriotic Week, and Family Day—and much more.
We look forward to another year filled with events dedicated to our veterans, active military and their families. Please take the time to check our website and the bulletin board in the Canteen for upcoming events. Sometimes things come up at the last minute, so you have to be diligent in checking the website and the bulletin board. Our website address is www.alch372.com.
The Post also continued to make many charitable donations to needy causes as well as awarding scholarships to ROTC graduates of Cherry Hill West High School, and scholarships to graduating members of our Legion Baseball team.
The most important things we do is supporting our troops that are fighting for our country. Please say a prayer for all of these gallant men and women who did not have the opportunity to be with their loved ones through the holidays. Also, let us not forget the veterans who fought for us in the past and always be proud of the fact “that you served your country”.
May 2010 be prosperous, healthy and successful for us all.
For God and Country,
Charles Macukewicz
Commander
