SAL COMMANDER MESSAGE (Oct - Dec 2009) July 11, we had our first American Legion softball game dubbed the Phil Beck Classic. Participants included General Members, Ladies Auxiliary, SALs, and family members. The game was followed by a cook out. Players and fans had a great time. The turn out for this event was great. Pictures are on the web-site. We are all looking forward to the second Phil Beck "Classic" next year.
The Family Day Picnic was a great day. The weather was perfect. There was plenty of good food. For the children, we had games and Beep-Beep the Clown. Everyone had a good time. I believe this was the largest Family Day turnout ever. I want to thank all General Members, Ladies Auxiliary, and SALs who worked together to make Family Day a great success. The proceeds will go to support Legion charities.
I would like to welcome our Thursday Night bartender, Kim, back to work. As Vinnie would say "It's about time".
SAL's meet the third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 PM in the Legion hall. Please try to attend.
For God and Country,
Gary Gottron
SAL Commander
