Eileen and I met up with Robin, Phil, Lorraine and Michele in Mt Holly and Rick and Kim at the Wawa across the street from the Garden State Diner.

There were a large group of bikes including members of other ALR Chapters, Nam Knights, 2nd Brigade, and the Warriors Watch who did the coordination. A number fire companies were there as well.

The base security allowed all of us to go on base and we created quite a spectacle as we snaked through the security serpentine and around the base.

We picked up the vams with what appeared to be 30-40 wounded soldiers. Fortunately none of them appeared to be severely wounded.

When we arrived at the Mt Holly EMS there was a great crowd who cheered as the vans and bikes pulled.

Unfortunately as happens quite often many people want to wish the soldiers well and thank them and they end up with a long program of speakers including local politicians, dignitaries etc. The Mt Holly folks did a great job and laid out a nice table of food for everyone but the program seemed to go on and on.

The soldiers however seemed genuinely thrilled and grateful for the outpouring of support. As the Captain said: "It is a good day to be an American and a good day to be an American soldier".
